Sportzify is coming up with India’s first Exclusive Sports Fiesta for Women in the month of December, we call it WOMENASIA.
Through Womenasia powered by Sakra World Hospitals, we aim to encourage Women to play sports. You don’t need to be a professional to participate in Womenasia’s Sports events, all you need is the Passion For Sports.
We have with us the Founder of JENYZ STUDIOO, Jenifir K Sharma to share her views on the importance of fitness for Women in today’s world.

Q – First of all, tell us about yourself Jenifir.
I am Jenifir K Sharma, Founder of JENYZ STUDIOO (Fitness & Fitness Apparels). I have won many awards & Gold medals at school and interschool zonal levels for 100M, 200M and relays. I am an MBA in Human Resources and have worked in many MNCs for 12yrs+ (GenPact, IBM etc). I am a mother of two, who loves outdoor activities & sports. I also play Golf with my hubby occasionally.
I Love to socialise and meet new people. My passion in life is music and dance.
I run a charity initiative “Reach Out Bring a Smile” and have conducted annual sports events for orphanages.
I am a Licensed Zumba Instructor for Zumba Fitness, Aqua Zumba, Kids Zumba (ages 3 to 12 years), Strong by Zumba & Zumba Toning. My work has been mentioned in HINDU, Economic Times, Townz Trends, Stay Fit, New Woman magazines.
I have been a Zumba Instructor for the last two years which is an amalgamation of Dance and fitness. Being a sportsperson all my life and given my passion for music & dance, I couldn’t have asked for a better form of a workout than Zumba.
I want every woman to be fit and find the form of workout that suits them well!
Q – What is the significance of sports in your life?
Sports can positively impact both children and adults, providing opportunities to get exercise and spend time with peers in a healthy environment. Playing sports can make you stronger and healthier, contributing to lower obesity rates.
Active people tend to have lower rates of diabetes and high blood pressure. Exercising regularly through sports programs could contribute to better heart and lung function. Especially in today’s stress environment, it becomes even more important to take out time and indulge yourself in a sport you love.
We all know that regular physical exercise is good for everyone and I urge especially girls/women to get a daily dose of endorphins from a jog around the block. It is evident that woman who plays sports are better students, they learn teamwork and goal-setting skills.
Sports is a fantastic way of keeping you in good health like improving fitness and maintaining a healthy weight. It builds self-confidence and it can help you deal with pressure since exercise is a natural mood lifter and a great way to relieve stress and fight depression. Plus, when you are in a team, you have friends who support you both on and off the field.
Q – Which sport do you play?
I love Zumba Fitness and it is part of my daily regime. Apart from that, I love playing Badminton. I occasionally play golf as well. I work on my strengthening 2-3 times a week.
Q – What’s your take on Womenasia – A complete Sports Fiesta exclusively for Women?
Excellent Initiative by Sportzify.
I am a firm believer that Every Woman should and must take out time for themselves and play a sport(s). As a simple one hour given towards a sports activity tends to make you more active, fit and rejuvenates you to take up any work. You don’t have to sign up for expensive gyms. A simple walk, a jog, one sport an hour a day can make any woman fit.
Hence am very proud of the fact that Sportzify has taken an initiative in this regards wherein this will encourage the woman to participate and stay fit and healthy.
Q – What is your best memory in your life related to any Sport?
A memory of sports – Best Sprinter School & Inter-Zonals. Also my first ever 10K run that I completed that was organised by Milind Soman and Milkha Singh. Being a Sprinter, Marathon was totally new to me and the fact that I was a finisher was a big achievement for me and has left an impactful memory.
Last year also, I won Women’s Car Rally organised by FICCI’s Bangalore chapter. The Car rally was a totally new venture for me and the fact that I won just goes to show once a sportsman always a sportsman.
Q – How do you take out time to pursue your Passion For Sports? What would be your advice for the same to the other Women?
When there is a will there is a way!
I love sports and understand the benefits of it and hence no matter what I take out time for an hour towards my love for fitness and badminton.
Just an hour a day for a sport makes any woman fit and healthy. As I mentioned earlier, Fitness/Sports should not be an option but a lifestyle. Working a day job while discovering and pursuing your passions and sports demands a lot of time and focus, but they are equally fundamental human needs—one for economic stability and the other for self-actualization.
For many of us—especially those with a lot of creative drive and entrepreneurial spirit—balancing our career and pursuing our dreams are critical to leading a full, enriched life. Sports keeps our mind and body fit which is essential in today’s environment where struggling between homes/jobs/family/relatives etc can take a toll on us.
Me being a woman with kids and a corporate job managed to take out that time for either a run or a gym. Lest I knew that one day I will change my passion into a profession!
Q – What do you think is missing in the current sports scenario for Women Sports Enthusiast like you?
The trend is changing for good. I see a lot of opportunities that are provided by events teams like Sportzify.
There are Marathons, Cycling and so many events that have been made easy for us woman to participate. It’s us Woman who has to take out time. It is tough but not impossible. Having said that there are hectic schedules, a new mom, a working woman in corporate, there are so many reasons why we are unable to even manage that 1 hour.
Q – Any suggestion to companies like Sportzify on how we can help this cause?
Reach out to as many women as possible through continuous efforts. It should not end with one event / one activity rather a continuous effort.
Q – A message that you would like to convey to other Women through this platform to make sure they come onboard in the sports activity of their choice.
When there is a will there is a Way! So gear up, wear those sports shoes and hit out an event with full enthusiasm and find a different and a SPORTS WOMAN in us.
